  5. Omi and I can only hope that we all learn from her love of family and friends, from her absence of malice, from her generosity, and from her courage in the face of personal adversity. She will be missed by many.

  6. She is one of the only people I have ever come accross that never made me feel that my mistakes would define me as a person. rather she would laugh with me about those mistakes and suddenly they felt like they were just part of my journey through life.

  9. Emma and KK: If you say a quote she could make it into a 30's song and everyone looks at her like she has three heads
-You would find chunks of potatoes in your eggs because she used the same spatula for everything
-you know what a roundaroo is

  11. You knew that even if she didn't know the answer, she would make one up & convince you of its accuracy. We are missing large chunks of our hearts with Carol's passing...but her spirit lives with us forever because she was bigger than life.

  16. I love and miss you so much. Not a day goes by without me thinking of you, and all that you have done to raise me, and to make me a better person. Everyday when I grab my wallet, my keys, my phone, and the stuff I where on my belt when I go to work, I always look at a picture of you, with an urn next to it, purposely placed there to remind me of how great of a mother you are to me, how much you've impacted my life for the better, and how you helped turn me away from the dark path I was heading down. It seems like a million memories and emotions flash through my head in a brief moment, every time I get ready for a new day. I cherish those moments, even though sad thoughts are included. However, that, along with a wonderful family and close friends is the only thing that I'll have to feel close to you, until I get to see you again. I'm looking forward to that day, but until that time, I plan on utilizing what GOD has given me (mentally, physically, and spiritually), bettering myself everyday in those categories, and serving in what ever way he asks me to. I'm pretty sure that's the whole reason for existing in this life. If I'm wrong now, or down the road, I promise to at least be open minded to ideas within reason, and to never harshly judge people, since I am not the judge, and I have many faults of my own (opinions are different - as you know). You taught me how to be open minded. You taught me a lot. I don't really know how it works up there, but I hope you can drop in every now and then to guide me when I need it, or just to pay a visit, and not only for me, but for everyone who misses you. And let's face it.......you've impacted many people positively, so if that's the case, I'd imagine you'd be pretty damn busy! I love you so much Carol. Thank you so much for everything.

  17. Spring is here. It makes me think of Carol. Looking at spring catalogs of flowers and plants, getting our hands dirty in the garden turning over the soil, taking a walk and naming all the growing things we can find, steaming baby new potatoes, asparagus and grilling the lamb. Mimosas in the morning and listening to birdsong. Peeking into the nests to see the baby birds. I still talk to you every day and wish you were here. I love you so much.
